Transformation

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

    and do not lean on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge him,

    and he will make straight your paths.

Be not wise in your own eyes;

    fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.

 It will be healing to your flesh

    and refreshment to your bones. – Proverbs 3:5-8

Head Prefect, Kayden Noel, spoke at last week’s chapel sharing about his personal transformation from trusting God. Growing up, Kayden was immersed in Christian tradition, but didn’t feel that he really knew God. When he came to BTA, he started to learn more about Jesus. Still, he struggled to understand why painful things still happened. He often found himself struggling with anxiety and panic attacks, particularly during the Covid 19 lockdown. He blamed himself and God for these struggles. He found himself demanding happiness from God and he wanted to have control. He learned that trusting God is hard. But if we take the first step with cultivating an individual relationship with God, the trust will eventually come. We must “not be wise in our own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to our flesh and refreshment to our bones”.
