Middle School Science

The Science Department at Boston Trinity Academy works to increase students’ scientific knowledge, while also encouraging them to develop the ability to think critically and creatively. Teachers emphasize the skills and habits that enable students to pursue a more complex understanding of the world around them and develop an inquisitive spirit for collecting data and drawing logical inferences. Students study the latest scientific evidence and theory along with the practical applications that allow them to grow in the Christian principles of working for the common good and being good stewards of the natural world.

All Middle School students take a laboratory science at each grade level. Sixth grade students take Integrated Science – Life Science as an introduction to scientific methods and biology. Seventh grade students take Integrated Science – Chemistry and the Environment as an introduction to atomic structure, reactions, and ecosystems. Eighth grade students take Integrated Science – The Physical Universe. All Middle School science courses include extensive use of well-equipped laboratory facilities.
