2025 Commencement

The path to graduation is never walked alone. Thank you for being part of it.

On May 29, 2025, another class of Boston Trinity graduates crossed the stage at Holy Name Church in West Roxbury —ready not just for college, but for a life of courage rooted in Christ.

At this year’s Commencement, senior Kayla Hilaire offered a profound but simple observation: “Friendship across difference works.”

It’s a truth that feels rare in our world, but one that the Class of 2025 has lived, even when it required time, humility, and grace.

Fellow senior Malcom Cermeño went one step further, echoing the words of Academic Dean Kris Loper: “Love takes effort.”

It was a tribute to the relationships forged over six years—and a recognition that what held them together wasn’t ease or similarity, but intention and commitment.

Our graduation speaker, author and apologist Dr. Rebecca McLaughlin, named what lies beneath those realities. The love that sustains us, she reminded students, is not something we conjure on our own. It is anchored in the love of Christ. “If you put your trust in Jesus,” she said, “then regardless of your failure or success, your future will be gloriously purposeful, beautifully meaningful, and ultimately happy beyond your wildest dreams.”

At Boston Trinity, students are not just prepared for college—they are formed to see life through the lens of faith: where love demands something of us, where difference doesn’t divide, and where our deepest security is found not in achievement, but in Christ.

As Rebecca put it, “No success or failure can rob you of your relationship with Him. And whatever the next chapter of your life looks like, the ending of the story will be outrageously good.”

Thank you for making that kind of formation possible. You are shaping students not only to believe in love, but to live it.
