Congratulations to the Class of 2024!
On May 30, 2024, Boston Trinity Academy held its 19th Commencement Ceremony at Holy Name Church in West Roxbury.
This year’s senior class could be remembered for its athletic championships, stellar drama performances, and academic successes. But its greatest achievement is to have built a community of diverse individuals in an increasingly polarized world.
What makes Boston Trinity unique is the way we combine academic excellence and purposeful faith in an intentionally diverse community.
In his commencement speech, Santi Rodriguez Cardenas used the metaphor of a puzzle to show how their class was special not because of their similarities, but their differences.“We are each our own shape, and not one of us is the same as another. But like the shape of a puzzle piece, we each fit into the puzzle of life to make it whole.”
Our commencement speaker, Dr. Matthew Croasmun, Director of the Life Worth Living program at Yale University, also commended our school. He described us as, “A community built around shared questions rather than shared answers.” He reflected, “You’ve been growing and building relationships across important and enduring lines of difference. That’s so important and rare in our world. Take that with you from this place. Be bridge builders.”
Our class of 2024 graduates will go on to institutions such as Yale University, Durham University, and Villanova University. Our commitment to give them an education rooted in faith, integrity, and service has prepared them to be bridge builders in a divided world.
