Kingdom Without Borders
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” – Galatians 3:28
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it.” – Matthew 13:45-46
“For though you have countless guides in Christ, you do not have many fathers. For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel.” – 1 Corinthians 4:15
“Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, since God is one—who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.” – Romans 3:29-30
The theme of Chapel on Wednesday, May 1, was “A Kingdom Without Borders”. The tenth grade humanities classes led the chapel through music and speeches. The speakers were Emma Hurst, Mia Tao, Ella Peck, Miles Decosimo, and Hugh Tate. Each used either a personal experience or illustration that pointed them to Jesus and what His borderless kingdom looks like. They exhorted us to embrace this kingdom and to do our part to live it out here on earth. Jesus was the ultimate figure on accepting, loving, and embracing people of all cultures, races, and walks of life. He invited the tax collector into his house. He loved the Samaritan woman at the well. He surrounded himself with the sick in spirit, body, and mind. He had endless patience and grace for His disciples. He taught us that we are all one in Him, Christ Jesus. There are no borders in His Kingdom!
